    I recommend you read the instructions and request the Polyglots team to add you as PTE for Jetpack Social.

    According to the reply I received by the german polyglot GTE team (see https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2022/06/10/pte-request-for-jetpack-social/#comment-294538), I think the easiest way to obtain PTE status, is a PTE request at make.w.org/polyglots by you as the plugin authors.

    Hi @kristinaplauche, hi @deathlynotes,

    my PTE request has not been approved in the meantime by the german polyglot GTE team, since their own special, particular process suggests that YOU as the plugin developers post a request for ME as a qualified editor in the appropriate forums or I will have to go through a thorough examination process to be allowed to translate your dear plugin, for free in my spare time for … what exactly? The appreciation? Since neither of you @kristinaplauche / @deathlynotes felt the need to fullfill the request of your own organisations to advance the process. HOW much more proof of that the process doesn’t work do you need???

    To be honest, I couldn’t care less about the process. I voluntarily gave away my time, my knowledge, my energy to do what I did. I informed you about my effort, so you could harvest it – for FREE. @kristinaplauche Yet you (i.e. WORDPRESS) chose to direct me to the “appropriate” channels for my translations – the ones I will follow from now on. The ones that don’t require my input, probably any input at all. Isn’t it a great system?

    Unser “Prüfungs”-Prozess wurde dir sehr genau erklärt. Ohne das Wissen und Einverständnis des Plugin- oder Theme-Entwicklers können wir nicht einfach so PTE-Rechte vergeben.

    Liegt dieses Einverständnis nicht vor, das heißt, trägt der Entwickler nicht selbst die Verantwortung für die Übersetzung, liegt die Verantwortung bei uns, dem deutschen Polyglot-Team.

    Wir kümmern uns um eine professionelle, fehlerfreie und durchweg konsistente Übersetzung. Dafür müssen die Übersetzungen geprüft werden und dazu müssen wir mit Mitwirkenden im Slack, Channel #polyglots in Dialog treten, Regeln erklären usw. Dort ist nicht der richtige Ort für die Erarbeitung fehlerfreier Übersetzungen.

    Es ist durchaus verständlich, dass Entwickler, denen eine professionelle Übersetzung wichtig ist, um auch in der Außenwirkung professionell aufzutreten, nicht für alle Sprachen dieser Welt die Verantwortung – oder besser gesagt – Prüfung übernehmen können.

    Übrigens, auch wir vom deutschen Polyglot-Team “verschenken” freiwillig unsere Zeit, Energie und Wissen und das unbezahlt und in unserer Freizeit. Und das tagtäglich, mehrere Stunden die Woche.

    Uns trägt der Open-Source-Gedanke und die Einstellung, dass wir für kostenlose Software gerne auch etwas zurückgeben.

    Wenn du also weiterhin an der Freigabe deiner Übersetzungen interessiert bist, wurden dir von mir ja bereits die weiteren Schritte erklärt. Da wir alle Freiwillige sind, kann es durchaus auch dauern, bis deine Anfrage im Channel #polyglots “bearbeitet” wird.

    @kristinaplauche and @deathlynotes there is nothing more to do or say here for the German Polyglot team. @theinternalthe is informed about all further necessary steps. Translator was asked to address the German Polyglot team in the German Slack, Channel #polyglots.

    @la-geek bedeutet deine Intervention hier, dass die vom polyglots Team (ebenfalls/ja sogar primär?) empfohlene Variante, den Entwickler um einen entsprechenden PTE Antrag zu bitten, nicht statthaft ist? Oder stört nur meine polemische Kritik am Verfahren?

    Lt. deinem letzten Absatz ist für den Developer hier ja nichts mehr zu tun bzw. nichts was er noch tun könnte – dann soll das auch so sein und wir belassen es dabei.

    @theinternalthe Es bedeutet, dass es einzig und allein die Entscheidung eines jeden einzelnen Entwicklers ist, wie er/sie PTE-Anfragen handhaben will und die man respektieren sollte.

    Meine “Intervention” bedeutet ferner: WordPress ist Open Source.

    Wo soll ich das denn geschrieben haben? Ich schrieb, für das deutsche Polyglot-Team gibt es hier nicht weiter zu tun oder zu schreiben. Du wurdest jetzt mehrfach in den deutschen Slack eingeladen, um deine Übersetzungen zusammen abzuarbeiten.

    Entweder überliest du das fortlaufend, oder keine Ahnung, ob du es ignorierst.
