    For all others who also have this issue:

    https://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/geoip2/geolite2/

    At the bottom there is a button that says “SIGN UP FOR GEOLITE2”, you need to create an account, confirm that account and you will be able to download the necessary file from your account.

    This was a change by MaxMind because of the new consumer privacy act in California

    Hi, Great Plugin, and thanks for clarifying the new download procedure. Once we login at MaxMind we have a choice of databases to download:
    GeoLite2-ASN
    GeoLite2-ASN-CSV
    GeoLite2-City
    GeoLite2-City-CSV
    GeoLite2-Country
    GeoLite2-Country-CSV
    Can you advise on which one is the correct download for your Plugin?

    You need the GeoLite2-Country database
