# Geo Blocking?

 * Just wondering if GEO blocking will every be added to Shield Security or if that’s
   not planned.

 * Many thanks for your question.
 * We’re sorry but we don’t do IP blocking by geo/country location and we do not
   plan to add this.
 * Geo/country blocking is based on IP addresses and is not entirely accurate.
 * We discuss this in this blog post here:

 * We use our automated IP manager (Automatic IP Black List system) instead. It 
   tracks bad behavior over a set period of time and as soon as it reaches the threshold,
   the Shield blocks it.
