    Does http://genericons.com/ show on android?

    Tested on Android:

Yes the genericons work from your site.

Still they do not show via genericon’d shortcodes on my site. Just showing empty rectangles where the icons are supposed to be.

Further, i do run quickshare plugin which also uses genericons and related icons are not showing as well.

Again, all works seamless on PC (Win7) on different Browsers. Cleared Browser Cache etc. All works as it should on PC.

I am using Responsive from CyberChimps.

    Investigating further…

Please do le me know. I suppose I’ll have to document that … Don’t know how I can force it. If there’s a way for me to force that in the plugin, I’ll do it 🙂

I have removed text rendering but the issue remains.

I will report the matter to CyberChimps. Lets see if they can figure.

    Hi Mika,

Tested this further and the issue may point to Genericon’d Plugin.

    Deactivated Genericon’d Plugin:

Reloading the website Quickshare Genericons are showing correctly on Android Mobile.

Activating Genericon’d Plugin and deactivating Quichshare:

Error remains showing outlined rectangles on Android Mobile.Nothing shows for Genericon’d on Symbian. Same as while both would be activated.

As said, It worked prior June seemless. Thus it might point to the change in structure you made recently in 3.1

You can try with Android SDK as you can emulate devices.

    Hopes that helps further.

    Cheers

The structure changes are actually due to genericons itself.

But… What do you mean Quickshare Genericons? What’s that?

    Thread Starter BeerandSuch

    (@beerandsuch)

Quickshare is an other plugin using Genericons:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/quickshare/

As said, if I deactivate Genericon’d plugin, Quickshare runs then perfect on Android and Symbian as well.

If I activate Genericon’d Plugin, Quickshare Genericons are instead Asian Symbo;s and Genericon’d Symbols are a no show on Symbian Mobile.

Sorry Mika, but it strongly suggests an issue with Genericon’d.
As well all worked prior 3.1 / June.

Sure I get that, and my point I’m trying to make is the structural changes I made are because genericons Was updated, and it’s possible the other plugin did not make them yet.

    http://genericons.com/2014/07/08/3-1/

    That’s what I changed.

Can you try deleting and reinstalling the plugin? Maybe you have a bad copy.

    Thread Starter BeerandSuch

    (@beerandsuch)

Deleted the Genericon’d plugin and all files.

After re-installation the issue remains though.

I have had the other plugin (Quickshare) deactivated to avoid any interference in advance.

I still need to update the copy of Genericons in QuickShare, although there shouldn’t be any conflicts between other themes/plugins loading genericons – only one copy should be used. And I typically only update when I have other updates to make in the plugin, since it’s a secondary component there.

Seems like it’s most likely something in Genericons itself (introduced in 3.1), and I don’t think many other themes/plugins have updated to 3.1 yet.

That’s my gut feeling too :/ Given how little else was changed (and I always update because it’s the primary component 😉 )

Is it possible to check that the CSS is loading properly in your view source?

Can you drop me version 3.0.3.4 and 3.0.3.3 that i can roll back and get my site going again.

3.0.3.3 should work for sure as I set up my site initially with it . FingersX 😉

    Old versions are here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/genericond/developers/

Do those CSS files load when you visit them directly?
