    Hi @vladytimy

Regarding the translations I just want to mention that the Romanian word “sit” does not refer to a web page or such electronic means. It means something different. The corect romanian word is “site” for site.

Please check DEX or any other dictionary.
Its ok also to translate using wrong words, better then nothing i guess.

    Regards,
    Andrei

Hi @andreigo , Thank you for the heads-up regarding Romanian translations. The translations that were recently uploaded by the Complianz CLPTE (with te correct word “site”) have indeed been changed to “sit” and overruled by the GTE. That also means that our CLPTE is no longer able to change it back to the word “site”. Only @vladytimy or a locale manager can do that.

    Hi, @andreigo

First, thank you for your contribution! Your translations have improved and these are not easy translations – they contain many technical terms and are quite lengthy. So kudos to you for that!

Indeed, our local glossary uses the word ‘sit’ as a translation for ‘site’. It’s a decision made by the team long time ago. As you can see, all WordPress projects use it, not only this plugin – translations must be as consistent as possible to give user a uniform experience.

That said, please join our Romanian Slack channel and let’s discuss this with the team of GTEs. I’d be more than happy to participate to this discussion and personally, I am open to a discussion about updating the Glossary. You can also find there the discussion that took place years ago about this matter.

You can read here about the steps to access our Romanian Slack. If you have any issues, let me know.

@paapst thank you for the mention in this thread.

    Kind regards!

    Hi @vladytimy ,
it appears the link to join the slack channel was to old and its no longer working.

I do imagine that years ago the word site was not existing in the oficial Romanian language dictionary. But since it exists, it should be used.

It would also be nice if the overview text would be corected as Open Sans does use corect romanian characters. and its confuzing now.

    Best regards,
    Andrei

Oh, thanks for noticing that. I asked our Locale Manager to update that invite. Meanwhile, here’s a new one.

I do imagine that years ago the word site was not existing in the oficial Romanian language dictionary. But since it exists, it should be used.

Indeed, the initial decision was made before the word was included in DEX.

It would also be nice if the overview text would be corected as Open Sans does use corect romanian characters. and its confuzing now.

Unfortunately, the font version is still not loaded correctly as you can see below, so the notice about wrong diacritics is correct.

    diacritice

The font is correct only if the language of the site is set to ‘lan=en’. If ‘lang=ro_RO’, then the diacritics are wrong. Here’s the issue on that font that we hope to have it solved soon.

Hope you’ll be able to join Slack now. Let me know how that goes!
    Regards!
