• I’m about to expand my business online but there’s a lot to learn and I don’t know if local host is the right choice.

My business is about a wholesale clothes company, I have to manage 20.000 items orders or more.

Why should I choose local host to make my e-Commerce (with Woocommerce ofc)?
What are the pros and cons?

Thanks to everyone will respond 🙂

  • Localhost installations generally means that WordPress will be installed on a pc that is only accessible to you, not the general public. This is usually done for development or learning purposes. Installing WordPress on a local machine using “localhost” in the URL will mean it is only accessible from the machine it is installed on.

You probably should not. Security can also be (and usually quickly becomes) a huge concern if you try hosting a site from a local machine.

If you already have an online presence, your hosting service can probably guide and advise you on what type of hosting plan or possible upgrades you will need to support your traffic.

Localhost is your local computer. It is best for creating a site that you do not want crawled by search engines or viewed by the public until it is completed.
You then move the site to a live hosting company for the public to view.
