Genealogy WordPress Themes

Hmmm … I logged back in today to see if there was any feedback on my post only to discover that the post had been removed. As there was nothing in the post to contravene forum policy I can only assume that someone is either a little power hungry or that there was a technical glitch. Maybe it was posted in the wrong section? As my message was posted in good faith and with the best intentions, I shall assume the latter. I hate to think the worst of people.

My link referred to the availability of free templates with a specific theme – Genealogy. Genealogy is one of the world’s most popular past times. Many family historians like myself, are switching to WordPress to showcase their family history online. The trouble is that templates for genealogy are few and far between.

With this in mind, Vintage Kin have started to introduce a range of genealogy themes. They are 100% FREE and fully compatible with the current version of WordPress. In fact each theme has been uploaded and sampled for visitors on the latest version to ensure compatibility. There are currently 18 themes in the collection with more scheduled to go online by the end of the month. Although genealogy based, anyone may use the templates for non-commercial purposes.

We have tried to submit the themes to the directory but as they have been created with a professional copy of Artisteer, WordPress will not accept the designs (apparently they have been inundated with templates and no longer accept Artisteer created submissions)… it’s a pity, because Vintage Kin have gone to great lengths to ensure that their designs are totally original. Artisteer is used only to ensure compatibility in terms of coding.

None-the-less, we will not be deterred. We like what we do and believe our designs are professional, practical and pleasing to the eye. We’re proud to present the collection and we’d love it if you could stop by! Thank You.
