    Hi Joss,

We are currently looking into & researching for it so we’ll be back soon with the announcement.

    Regards,

    Hi Tatvic,

Are you able to provide an update on making this plugin GDPR compliant?

    Best regards.

Hi Tatvic-Team, is there already an intermediate status on the GDPR compliant part – when can we expect an announcement? Thank you in advance.

    With kind regards,

    Hi,

The free version of our plugin will not collect visitors information from your website except GA cookie, neither directly nor indirectly. It will also not take plugin users personal information on our server. It will work independently in your backend.

However, it’s a tracking plugin so GA cookie is always collected (It’s mandatory to collect data in GA) on Google Analytics servers since so it really depends of your usage.

We’ll update this information soon with our plugin!

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Tatvic,
what we need for this plugin is a) anonymize IP option and b) an opt out possibility for users, so the cookie will not be set and deleted if there was one before.

    With kind regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

We’ll provide the IP anonymize feature soon but we’ll not provide the opt-out feature because if the opt-out feature is enabled then the GA calls will not fire & Enhanced Ecommerce data (especially transactions) will not record for those users & our plugin is especially for Enhanced Ecommerce tracking so we can’t provide the opt-out feature. It will result in missing Transaction in your GA account.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Tatvic,

Explicit cookie consent is also required to be GDPR conpliant. It seems that not having an opt-out option would not be GDPR compliant. Don’t you think that some missing Transaction in the GA account is better than potentially most people not being able to use your plugin at all?

Here is a quote from https://www.cookiebot.com/en/google-analytics-gdpr/

Implement a GDPR compliant cookie consent
Getting a proper consent to the use of cookies from your visitors is a crucial part of rendering your website compliant with the GDPR. In order to be compliant, the consent has to be…

    • Obtained prior to the setting of the cookies on the user’s browser (strictly necessary cookies are excepted from this rule)
    • Given on the basis of clear and specific information about what the consent is given to
    • Based on a true choice. The user must be able to opt out of all but the strictly necessary cookies and still use the site.
    • Retrievable. The user must have access to their settings and make changes to what cookies they want to accept and reject.
    • Kept as documentation that the consent has been given.

    Hi @mbv,

We already read this article & we can provide this feature but the missing transaction part will affect only in your analytics reporting.

However, you can implement this opt-out script from your end as well. it’s very easy to implement if you are a developer.

We’ll announce the changes & policy for our plugin soon.

    Thanks & Regards,
