Gated Content Is Present With Dev Tools/View Page Source

    Hi,

    I’m testing the plugin to gate a post. The message “This content is for Coil Members Only” appears as expected, however if you view the page source or inspect it using the dev tools, the whole content is there.

    Additionally, the gated content appears for a brief moment on page load/reload, before being hidden by the “checking web monetization status” message.

    Is this the intended behavior? Is there something I could’ve done better/correctly?

    Hey there,

    Marc from the Coil team here.

    Thanks for bringing this up. We are aware of the limitation of using CSS to hide the content, but we haven’t yet found the best solve for it which still supports interactive Gutenberg blocks (like sliders, carousels and other elements)

    We are however, working on a quicker and more reliable initialisation so that the flash of content isn’t an issue, that’ll be included in the next version of the plugin.
