Gallery vs. Jetpack Carousel

I absolutely love this theme! The only problem I run into is that when users want to click through my picture, they prefer the pop-up “carousel” rather than linking to a new page (I’m also partial to this). I’ve tried to read up about it and it seems like there’s usually something in the code that’s preventing this Jetpack feature to function properly. What I’m looknig for is to get this carousel option to work. Any assistance would help! Thank you!
