Support » Fixing WordPress » Gallery shortcode limit ?

  • I uploaded 320 images in a post throu WordPress embedded flash uploader.

Apparently, there is a limit of # of pictures that kills the whole “Gallery” tab in the “Add an image” link.

I checked old posts with few images in the same site, and the gallery link was actually there and working!

Anyone knows if this is a bug ? If there is actually a limit on total number of images ? Sadly the codex doesn’t say anything about this.

(If this can help, all images are 1680×1050, between 1 and 2mb. I can insert pics in the actually post with no problems at all.)

I don’t think there’s a WordPress enforced limit but with that many images in a single gallery/post, I’d guess that you simply asked too much of the server and the gallery display eventually timed out.

Trying to add that many images to a single post/page is a really Bad Idea on just about every front.
