• Hi,

Would someone mind viewing this page and letting me know if you can determine what the issue is with this lightbox feature?

When you click on a thumbnail, two layers open and you have to click twice to close. Very weird and I don’t want to delete the wrong section of code.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is the “hatch” theme that I edited and customized.

  • What gallery plugin are you using?

By the way, I emailed the maker of the plugin and he said there was a conflict in the theme that needed to be removed or something. The message was half in German so not sure what he meant! Thanks.

What theme are you using and what was this conflict?

The only info I have is written above.

    Original theme / Hatch

Developer of lightbox plugin said something in the Hatch theme is causing conflict with plugin and needs to be deleted.

We need a little more information on that conflict.

    What would you like?

Can you tell us what the plugin’s developer said?

Are you reading what I already provided because that’s all I’ve got. What I know thus far is that the original theme “Hatch” has a lightbox code called “fancy box” in the functions.php file and that is what is conflicting with the lightbox plugin that I installed.

If you view a gallery page and click on a thumbnail you will see exactly what I am talking about.

When you click on a thumbnail and the larger image appears, click the X to close it and there will be another layer underneath. Fairly self explanatory … Thanks.

Yes but you still haven’t shown us what exactly was said., By the sound of it, this is just one of those unfortunate conflicts that sometimes happens between a theme and a plugin. The only solution is to delete one of them – plugin or theme – and use another instead.

All of the info you need was provided. If you click the link and view example and click view element it shows exactly what I am referring to but nevermind if you are unable to answer perhaps someone else will have a better answer. Thanks.

FWIW, I have 10+ years experience with WordPress – quite a few of them working on these forums. And I can assure you that there is no magic bullet in these situations. Without full details, it is impossible to accurately diagnose and solve such a problem purely based on its symptoms. However, if you feel someone else will be able to provide you with a better answer without those details, then so be it.

Good luck with your site. 🙂
