    Hi all,

I’m transferring a lot of NextGEN galleries from a website in a WP Multisite into another website in a different WP Multisite.

    – I downloaded all the folders from the old website and I uploaded them in the new one all via FTP.

I should change the Gallery path in the “Other option” tab but I cannot find where as I don’t have the first line shown in this image.

    Any advice?

    Thanks a lot!

@ilic74 – Migrating from one Multisite installation to another Multisite installation provides some unexpected and untested concerns. We do not actually test for such circumstances and generally would recommend with any migration where NextGEN Gallery is not working as expected would be to use the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options.

This feature set is designed to put the plugin back to its default installation settings (mostly in single site installations).

As it is, I would suggest insuring you have the plugin set up correctly to provide for importing of images from a folder, then re-create all of the galleries for the sub-site of the Multisite using the scan for new images and/or import from folder feature set; and, then re-insert all of the displays into the pages/posts as needed.

The issue at hand is there are six tables that NextGEN Gallery uses and you will need to address all of the entries from the past multisite’s instance and add them to the current multisite’s instance (generally working within the database is not recommended unless you are extremely comfortable doing so in a multisite environment).

Tables typically involved: wp_ngg_*, wp_options, wp_postmeta, and wp_usermeta (as seen in a single site installation).

    Thanks!

    Thanks Cais for your reply.

    I guessed it wasn’t a usual procedure.

I’ve already imported all the folders from the old website to the new one (in the same folder where there was my test gallery images).

    I’m following this tutorial:
    https://www.imagely.com/docs/import-images-nextgen-gallery/
I suppose it is official as it is on your website.

My problem is that I don’t have neither the first screenshot (Import folder) or the highlighted part in the second one (Gallery path) in my NextGEN dashboard.

    Thanks

@ilic74 – As a multisite installation the individual site options are different, please check those settings. The article on our site is for a single site installation.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

Just to let you know I’ve successfully import the 3 _ngg_ tables into the other website and everything works fine. I just needed to change the table’s names accordingly with the DB prefix.

There is no need to import other tables.

Maybe this information can be useful for other users.

    Cheers!!
