 * The gallery landing pages are displaying 9 thumbnails across the page in a compact
selection so the thumbnail and title display 9 columns across the page. My customer
is elderly and prefers less than 9 thumbnails across with a corresponding increase
in size for each thumbnail image as the number decreases — rather than 9 across,
perhaps 6, 5, or perhaps just 3 across — and each reduction of total thumbnails
across will cause a corresponding increase of the size of the remaining thumbnails
if you follow the solution I seek?
 * Hopefully I will not be waiting six weeks like the last time I asked for help,
but to remind why I endured a six week delay read more below…
 * Unlike most modern support forum functionality, I do not see anyway to upload
a screen shot to assist you visualize the issue. So sad. At the risk of sharing
a logical thought, a picture is truly worth a thousand words.
 * The website is not live online, still in tweaking, the customer has not authorized
public discussion, therefore do not waste your time asking for a URL to view
the project or back-end access. Just visualize the problem and blurt out the
solution which is how many of the 1200 responses seem to indicate.
 * As for the 1200 other responses — apparently I subscribed to the NexGen Gallery
forum and routinely receive hundreds of shocked consumers writing irate emails
each month due to the seemingly endless defects that arise in each next version
update. I created a folder of more than 1200 posts since late October and already
deleted more than 1000 thousand since September YIKES — so many consumers waiting
weeks and months, repeatedly not achieving prompt solutions.
 * Please be so kind to focus all effort on providing me a prompt, specific response,
including **exact steps** so I achieve actual solution with no useless questions—
oh and by the way — yes the Word Press, Avada Theme, and NexGen Plugin are all
current and updated as expected. Again, no you can not have access or view the
front-end unless you provide me private reply which is not yet evident below.
 * Who would build the functionality of a support forum without an immediate private
submission option and at least a screenshot upload functionality to jump-start
   the solution discussion?

 * [@netmediamarkets](https://wordpress.org/support/users/netmediamarkets/) – I
do believe I understand the concern you have, or better said the design aspect
your customer appears to be looking for. Unfortunately, at the moment, this is
not how NextGEN Gallery works. You can set the number of columns to be displayed
for galleries although albums do not currently have this option. The number of
columns that appear across the width of the content is also restricted by that
same width and displayed based on the thumbnail dimensions (specifically their
width) being used in the display.
 * If you want a three column width display, you can set that option but if you
want the thumbnails to dynamically change sizes to then fill the same width that
is not going to happen … we are aware of this feature request and do have it
under consideration although we are looking at other “responsive” ideas first
especially as they relate to the number of columns option we currently provide.
 * The premise of a display type that auto-magically fills the width of the content
area it is inserted into where the significant option to balance this against
is the number of columns wanted is actually quite good … I really like it; unfortunately
it would be best served as a Feature Request here: [https://imagely.com/feature-voting/](https://imagely.com/feature-voting/)
as we do not currently have any display type that can readily have its template
changed to meet the customizations you are describing.
 * Thanks for the feedback, and again, we do apologize for the issue you have with
receiving all topic updates although I believe one of the forum moderators has
suggested a way to address this in another of your topics.

 * Wow! Yet another useless response to avoid an actual solution. Let me guess,
you will continue your useless conduct for another six weeks just like last time.
Some guy who owns the place will finally weigh in and resolve the problem just
like last time. If I had to be shipwrecked on an island — you will be forced
to raft your way to some other island — because you will be the guy who never
   carries his own weight.
 * At any point in your response did you offer to step me through the process of
increasing the size of the thumbnails? Did that logical next step actually ever
dawn on you or were you so selfish as to write your useless explanation about
a so-called “auto-magical” fill your team may someday consider during some future
revision. Auto-Magical Fill — you mean like every mobile responsive functionality
these past 5 years since 2011 is that the AUTO-MAGICAL FILL your team may consider
   years from now?
 * In closing, please be so unselfish as to actually offer a solution beginning
with a step by step explanation how to increase the dimension of the existing
thumbnails and maybe — just maybe — that is the solution until your team considers
your AUTO MAGICAL FILL option years from now.
 * Oh, and by the way, if you write the script to double and triple and quad increase
of the size of the thumbnails then consumers will be able to select optional
thumbnail sizes on the fly and that increase in width (aspect ratio retained)
reduces the total number of thumbnails. A one size fits all makes literally no
   sense in modern America viewing.
 * Can you explain how to rebuild the size of the existing thumbnails without anymore
verbose wishful thinking responses where you offer no actual solution but fill
your response with discussion about an AUTO MAGICAL FILL which your team may
consider years from now when other far more important features are added two
   years from now?

 * [@netmediamarkets](https://wordpress.org/support/users/netmediamarkets/) – My
apologies for not recognizing you do not know how to regenerate the thumbnails
for a specific gallery. Here are steps you can follow:
    - Go under Gallery > Manage Galleries … click on the gallery you want to change
      the thumbnail sizes.
    - Select the images you want new thumbnails sizes for (you can click the checkbox
in the top row to select all of them).
    - Click on the bulk actions drop-down selector and click on the “Create new
      thumbnails” option
    - Click the apply button; then click the save changes button.
 * The above will change the thumbnails for the specific gallery although it will
not change the thumbnails used in any specific inserted display, to do that you
will need to be using a display type that offers the Thumbnails override option.
 * Re-open the existing display where you want the thumbnails changed in size, open
the customizations accordion panel and click on the radio button to change the
default option to Yes. This will cause the thumbnail dimensions options for that
specific display to be shown and you can set the values as needed there. Save
the changes to the display and update the page/post afterward. You may need to
clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous to see the
   changes immediately.
 * We also offer extensive documentation at the following as well: [https://imagely.com/docs/](https://imagely.com/docs/)
 * Thanks!

 * I have 1200 plus images in 152 albums. I want to resize all thumbnails in each
of the residential, commercial, hospitality galleries — all 1200 plus thumbnails.

 * [@netmediamarkets](https://wordpress.org/support/users/netmediamarkets/) – Given
the number of images you are referring to it may not be something your web hosting
solution can handle although it may be possible. As it is, the same bulk action
for creating new thumbnails at a gallery level is also available at the Manage
   Galleries level.
 * Under Gallery > Manage Galleries … select the galleries you want to create new
thumbnails for by checking the appropriate boxes, then select the create new
thumbnails option in the drop-down selector and apply. Unfortunately we do have
a specific article for whole sale thumbnail changes (mostly due to many hosting
environments not being able to handle large operations like that) but for future
reference here is the article on individual gallery thumbnail changes: [https://www.imagely.com/docs/creating-new-thumbnails/](https://www.imagely.com/docs/creating-new-thumbnails/)
 * Thanks!
