# [gallery] insert gallery into post

 * Hi,
 * I have uploaded a bunch of images and edited all of the image details.
 * If i select “insert gallery into post” all the html code that is produced is:
 * [gallery]
 * Also all images appear as thumbnails!
 * I was hoping this would be a way of inserting multiple images into a single post
   rather than one at a time. And that all images would retain the size chosen when
   editing each images details.
 * Is this a bug?

 * none that i am aware of.
    in wordpress 2.6 there is a button called “insert gallery
   into post” underneath all of the images you upload. i am assuming the word gallery
   just means all of the images uploaded.

 * you must upload the images first to wordpress, THEN insert gallery, and it will
   show thumbnails of all the images you uploaded.
