    Hello,

This isn’t a bug – more a question of whether there’s any way of doing what I want or failing that a request for a pointer of the best way for me to hack it…

I need to have galleries that are based on categories. So my clients can add images to their media libraries and they’ll get included in the appropriate gallery page.

There used to be a plugin that did exactly what I wanted – I used it yonks back – but nowadays it seems to have fallen by the wayside…

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-categories-2/

It allowed you to include category ID in the [gallery] shortcode instead of attachment IDs, so for example… [gallery category="12"].

I guess I could create another shortcode that runs a bit of code to find all attachments in a category, and construct a do_shortcode with all the attachment IDs – but I was wondering if there is a better way? Funnily four clients have asked me for pretty much the same thing in the last week. They’re all sold on the (without) Jetpack gallery styling, but are all asking for the same function that I’m not aware exists.

    Many thanks.
