• Hi,
I am trying to insert a gallery but it seems that my portrait photos are being cut off on the top and bottom… It looks as though the galley only caters for landscape photos. However ONE of those portrait photos appears to be fully visible.

I’m not sure what is wrong, I have read and tried all suggestions from other forum posts similar to this but nothing is working….!

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?
Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Thirteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

I am using origami.. I have other gallery plug ins but I am using the default gallery option that wordpress has.

Password for the link is wordpress

Ensure that “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)” is unchecked.

    Yes it is.
Doesn’t work. I have tried different sizes in fields, tried reuploading photos, updating pages.
    Nothing seems to be working.

    I’m using Mozilla on mac.
Is there a plug in I can use for galleries? Preferably one that shows thumbnails also

Was “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)” checked?

Initially it was, then when I changed it it didn’t make a difference

I have tried it with other portrait photos also and it still cut them off.

The change you made will only affect image you upload from now on. To resize images already uploaded, you need to install and run http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    I had it unchecked.
I then went and reloaded the photos to the gallery, which didn’t work, so I deleted those and added them from scratch to my library and still no change.
