Support » Plugin: CAOS | Host Google Analytics Locally » GA4 showing all visits from one country

  • Analytics shows all visitors are in Pheonix, Arizona, USA.

I am currently using the following settings

    Snippet type – Default
    Anonymize IP
    Stealth Mode
    using – Gtag.js (v4 API – beta)

I noticed that somebody else has had the same problem, We are both using the Swift Performance plugin for caching and Cloudflare CDN

I have a message that gtag.js has been renamed, is this a new feature?
Also, I can not find the cron job for caos, has this been renamed as well?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Sorry, I should’ve been more clear.

You should leave Stealth Mode enabled. So, Plugin Handling > Experimental. Enable Stealth Mode > Checked.

    Then it’ll start logging.

    Hi Daan,

The debug log appears to be recording some information now, I will upload using the form link as previously

    Hi, Daan.

Have you had any luck figuring out what is causing the incorrect location?

unfortunately, it is still happening. The handling mode is currently set to experimental.

I have a debug log I can upload if it will help.

The debug log appears to be capturing the correct IP address, so I am unsure where it is picking my server IP address up from. I also noticed that the GTM listed in the debug log is not my GTM id.

Have you tried this with your cache turned off?

Also, if you’re using the paid version of Swift, why not switch to Cloudflare APO? It’s likely to be integrated better.

    Hi Gal,

I have tried it with the cache turned off, unfortunately, GA is still showing inaccurate locations(my server IP)

I am using the paid version of Swift Performance and Cloudflare APO already. Neither stops the error from appearing.

If you’re using APO, why are you using Swift?

Can you confirm that this happens with Cloudflare in Development Mode + no caching or minifying whatsoever?

Do you use the Cloudflare plugin? If so, can you test with it deactivated, no caching/minifying and CF in Dev mode?

Since Analytics tracking uses JavaScript, it’s worth checking the browser console for any messages that may indicate and issue.

    Hi Daan,

On checking the raw access log for my site, I noticed

    POST /wp-json/caos/v1/proxy/super-stealth?…..

is returning 406 226 errors sometimes and other times it is returning 200 26 responses.

The latter appears to be picking up my server IP

Any ideas on why this is, or how to fix it?

I have stripped out the information from the raw access log, which I can send you if it would help to see it
