Love the plugin, it’s perfect in every way for what we need, apart from one small issue.

Search terms with special characters are not treated as fuzzy when displaying categories in ajax search for Woocommerce products.

Example searc “Dvorák” (see linked screenshot)

    1) Entering “Dvor” shows categories followed by products. Perfect! 🙂

    2) Entering “Dvora” shows just the products, but no categories. 🙁

    3) Entering “Dvorá” shows categories followed by products. 🙂

Ideally, using special characters (a and á) should produce the same results in 2) and 3)

    Any help much appreciated!

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

The two characters (a and á) are different and have different ASCII values as displayed on the below page therefore you have to type exact characters to search them.

Thanks a lot for looking at this.

Maybe this is my misunderstandng, but it appears that special charaters are treated as “fuzzy” for products, but not for categories.

So a search for “Dvorak” lists products wihch have the category “Dvorák” applied, but doesn’t list the category “Dvorák” itself.

In short, searches in product categories seem to apply some special charater matching when findig products, but not when findig categories.

Is it possible that that’s the case?

The plugin searches categories but in the search results displays products that have those categories and not the categories itself.
