Future post ping?

Hello,
I searched around the forum to see if I could find an answer for this but I had no luck.
Basically, I’m wondering whether post-dated posts send pings to the ping servers once they appear on your site?
The reason I ask this is because I have a blog where I post some pictures daily and recently I went on a trip for 3 days and just entered 3 posts to cover those days to be posted at the appropriate date and time, and I found that apparently WP did not send the pings.
I’m using WP2.01
