Interesting, since the same checks are used in the plugin and here on WordPress.org.

Could you elucidate a bit? Why can’t you run checks on your own site?

They are from my own site. Using either the debug plugin, or the theme check plugin.

Hmm. I don’t understand the question here, really.

The theme check plugin runs on your own (development) site and it checks themes that are on your own site. It’s an independent thing.

Theme Check runs on anybody’s blog, and what it says about a theme on site A also applies to the same version of that theme on site B. The errors, in short, apply to the theme, not to the theme on a particular site.

Well, yes. I guess I don’t see the point though. 🙂

Theme Check is a developers tool. It’s intended audience is theme authors, to be able to check their themes for things they might have missed, or gotten wrong, or whatever.

It’s also a prerequisite for uploading themes to the WordPress.org free themes directory, as it saves our reviewers a bunch of time to not to have to check for things that can be automated.

A normal user wouldn’t have a whole lot of uses for it, unless they were wanting to improve their themes a bit. Maybe. It’s mostly for theme authors.

And that’s what I want to do.

Well… Okay then. I don’t understand, but I suppose if you won’t explain then I don’t need to. Good on ya, and such.

I have explained, it’s just not the explanation you want to hear. 🙂
