Functions.php breaks Yoast XML sitemap

    Hi I’m having some trouble with my Yoast XML sitemap.

    It seems as soon as I enter ANY valid functions to the functions.php even if it’s just calling for menus to be enabled. It breaks Yoast’s XML site map.

    “This page contains the following errors:

    error on line 8 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
    Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.”

    Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this and how I might fix it?
