I have been using the Instagram feed on my website for years now quite happily.

But today I noticed that I am receiving the following message at the top of any French page of my site.

Function_load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translations loading for the instagram-feed domain was triggered too early This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the initial action or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 6.7.0) in /home/mvnpca60/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114

Note, I had to type this error out manually because I was unable to capture the text of the message directly.

Is it possible there is a bug in the most recent release of the Instagram Feed plugin?

    Thank you so much

  • Same issue here. I had to set define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false) temporarily but this is not a solution to fix it.

    Hey there @seaforth and @christian70,

We are just wrapping up the testing of the plugin version which will resolve this issue. In the meantime, please feel free to download the version with the fix from this link [expires on February 19, 2025 as the official version will be launched].

Thank you both for reaching out and asking about this issue. I will mark this as resolved as we are about to fully release this update soon, but if you have any additional questions or issues please let us know!

Thank you, Joel. If I do install this fix version of the plugin, will it still update automatically when the new version is released? Or will I need to re-install when that happens?

    Thank you so much

I tried installing the fix but the problem persisted even if I cleared my caches.

Please let me know when either another fix is available or the new version is released.

    Thank you so much

I can confirm the fix works for me – there was a WP_Theme->__toString() call in the check for if the site is using Divi theme and this caused loading of theme translations too early.

@seaforth Then your issue lies elsewhere, probably.

I am happy that r4nd99y’s problems have been resolved. Mine have not.

This is clearly an Instagram Feed problem. Perhaps the fix provided resolves some situations but not others.

I like the plugin but it is causing highly problematic behaviour in French.

    Hi,

Unfortunately I confirm that also in my case the newly downloaded version didn’t fix anything.

Thank you everyone for your input. I am checking in with the developers with the additional information provided here. Please keep a lookout for the full release of the plugin.

For those where the update did not resolve the issue, could you please send us a support request here, including the System Info available from the Help section of the plugin which you can find at top right of most Instagram Feed pages in the WordPress Dashboard. This will help us narrow down any remaining issue.

    Thanks!

I just installed a new release today, but unfortunately the problem persists.

I just submitted a report with the System info to the link above.

Developers, please post here when you think you have it fixed and I can check.

I am hoping we can get this resolved soon!

    Thanks

    Hi @seaforth,

In some cases, the _load_textdomain_just_in_time warning is triggered by plugins specific to your setup, could you please send us a support request here, including the System Info available from the Help section of the plugin which you can find at top right of most Instagram Feed pages in the WordPress Dashboard. Please also include your WordPress debug log which you can find by following this guide: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/

The above information is not safe to share here and will help us narrow down the issue for you.

    Thanks!

I have the same issue, with the fr_FR translations. I also see versions in /wp-content/languages/plugins and wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/languages are different ?

If someone solved it, I’d be happy.

One detail, the site was in 2 languages but I removed WPML and all extensions, shall I check the database ?

    Hi @jgcabanas

It surprises me that you are still seeing the problem after removing WPML!

However, the plugin developer has assured me that the errors do not cause any other problems except for the actual messages (which are a huge problem in and of themselves). As such, you can just disable the error messages for WordPress to alleviate the problem until the developers are able to resolve the code problem.

Here is what they sent me:

Please note that the notice does not affect the normal functioning of your website and you can disable it from displaying and rather continue tracking it in your WordPress debug log. Please refer to the following article for how to enable the WP_DEBUG_LOG and turn off WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/

Rest assured, our developers are working to resolve all the _load_textdomain_just_in_time notices as soon as possible.

By updating the wp-config file with these changes my site appears as if there is no problem.

    Hope this helps!

    Hey there,

Thank you @seaforth sharing the instructions to disable the notices. This will let your website display correctly while the notices are recorded in the WordPress debug log. The issue isn’t strictly related to WPML plugin but to all plugins and WordPress core functions that handle translations.

@jgcabanas I recommend submitting a support form on our website, https://smashballoon.com/support/, and include the System Info.

To obtain this information, please follow the steps on this page: https://smashballoon.com/doc/how-to-get-system-info. We ask you to use our form, as the System Info contains other website information from your site, which we do not suggest posting here. The system info may show us if there is anything unique about your setup that is triggering the notice in a different way.

Please let me know if you have questions.
