  • Hello WordPressers.

    I have built a site for a friend here

    All seems to work OK in every browser apart from IE8-9

    That is to say that the full width background image i have doesn’t display correctly in IE8-9.
    What seems to be happening is that the image is cut at the bottom of the pages with more content vertically, and when i minimise the browser window size using control+minus the image seems to stick to the left of the screen, leaving whitespace to the left.
    So I guess it`s not centering properly, and theres something up with the height.

    Currently i`m using a CSS background-image and no inline image on the page, so thus:

    body.custom-background {
        background-image: url("images/dof.jpg");
        background-repeat: no-repeat;
        -webkit-background-size: cover;
        -moz-background-size: cover;
        -o-background-size: cover;
        background-size: cover;

    I have tried a load of different techniques, some included on the Chris coyier post here > to no avail.

    Anyone got a tip or trick i might try?
