Support » Theme: Squirrel » full width

  • Hi,

    Thank you for being available.

    I am attempting to make a fullwidth page in the squirrel theme and seem to be stuck at the css.

    I have stripped out the ‘get-sidebar’ from page.php and added #contentwide to styles.css however I don’t find a place to change div id=”content” to div id=”contentwide” on page.php.

    It would be nice to know the actual page width also – if possible.

    Thanks
    **** this is also posted in the how to & troubleshooting forum, my apologies if that or this was incorrect

  • Are you using a Child Theme – do not modify theme files directly as the changes will be lost when the theme is updated. The CSS is set in the style.css file. A link to your site is necessary for help with things like this.

    Hi and thank you.

    the link to the site is http://www.medicalbillingconnect.com

    You really need to use a Child Theme – otherwise all these changes will be overwritten when the theme is updated – you really don’t want to get in that situation :/ …

    Thank you.

    Will you be able to help me with the full width item as well?

    I’ll do my best – I’ve not used that theme, but unless there’s something particularly unusual about it, I would expect the CSS to be pretty straightforward.

    Great!!

    Resolved!

    eemit from experts exchange gets the credit for this one.

    Change (in fullwidth-page.php):
    <div class=”grid_16 alpha”>
    To:
    <div class=”grid_24 alpha”>

    See in \wp-content\themes\squirrel\css\960_24_col.css
    .grid_16{width:630px}
    .grid_24{width:950px}
    .grid_23{width:910px}

    Worked perfectly!
