• Does anybody know which rss site will give you the full article, not just a teaser that redirects my visitors back to their site?

  • Not sure I understand the question. But, as admin, go to Options -> Reading and, under Syndication Feeds, check Full Text. Is that what you’re after?

I’m not sure, I’ll check it out – thanks!

Nope – I had full text checked. what I’m asking is when I subscribe to a free rss feed, all I get is the headline and a paragraph… to read more, I have to clik on the “read more” or the headline and get taken to the feeders website.

I’m trying to avoid this – I want my readers to stay on my site

Gonna need you to elaborate a bit then. My mind reader widget is defective. 😉

..when I subscribe to a free rss feed..

What feed and where? I take it this isn’t a feed from YOUR blog?

.. I want my readers to stay on my site ..
Are you using a syndication plugin to pull feeds INTO your site from other sites?

If so, you can’t control what’s in the feed. The originating site controls it.

yes – I’m pulling artiales into my site – from news.yahoo.com for example…

all I get is the headline and a ‘teaser’ paragraph – then, when someone who is on my site clicks to read the rest of the article, they are transported to yahoo – not what I’m looking for in a feed, but i guess it will still give me some of what I’m going for – for now

Yeah, that’s a bummer. But just as you don’t want your readers to go offsite, the feed providers want to drive traffic to THEIR sites. Thus the eternal eyeball battle… 😉

Not much you can do about it unless they offer multiple feeds. And most don’t.

I thought perhaps that there was a feed reader thgat would actually go into each article teaser (and then the rest of the article) and retrieve it for me –

Someone needs to work on that –

    thanks,
    Russ
