# FTP authentification failed

 * I updated yesterday to version 3.3.6 and since then I have been not able to upload
   my backups to the specified FTP-server. I went back to the old version and everything
   is fine again.

 * I had the same issue (I actually came to this forum to post about that).
 * What I found out is that upgrading to 3.3.6 seems to make BackWPup forget the
   FTP password.
 * I went into the backup job, inserted the FTP credentials and saved. Now it is
   working for me.

 * currently I am using php 5.5. If needed I can change to 7.0 or 7.1. But…. never
   change a running system… 😉

   Our developer is working on the fix. It would be great to have some tester before
   releasing. If you want to test please contact us via the contact form on [backwpup.com](https://backwpup.com/contact/)
   and use as subject “Betatest”. You can write in English or German. We will provide
   you with the bugfix as soon as we have one.
