# FTP account issue

 * Howdy,
 * I would like to ask whether hosted free wordpress website has access to FTP information
   or not? If it does, can you help n’ link me to any helpful source so I could 
   get access to FTP?.. I am about to install some plugin to back up my old database
   and other files from WP (version 3.6.1) but I need FTP info!

 * There is no FTP access on free wordpress.com accounts. An explanation – [https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/](https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/)

 * That doesn’t sound like it would be hosted on wordpress.com. If you can mention
   your domain name or leave a link to your site, we might be able to point you 
   in a better direction.

 * Hi there again,
 * I’ve found out I could use export function to export all my data from one to 
   another blog. The question is: would it work on a WP hosted website?
 * If it does I have an optional issue: I cannot find Export function on WP 3.6.1
   ver. Can you help me, please?
 * p.s I could use some export plugin instead, but in that case it asks me FTP username
   n’ password. I got stuck :S

 * You could use a complete backup method – [WordPress Backups](https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups)–
   which would be good to do on a regular basis, or as you mention, a plugin could

 * For your FTP username and password, you can contact your hosts support staff 
   and they will be able to help you set up an FTP user account for your site.
