Your social meta settings are VERY FRUSTRATING.

I want a Large Summary Card for Twitter when I post my links. I have the social meta settings set to that in the main menu, but the in-post social settings overrides that. The stupid part is that it always defaults to the Small Summary Card regardless of what’s set in the main menu settings.

    THIS IS STUPID.

The main menu settings should set the default for the in-post settings. So if I have Large Summary Card set in main menu. The in-post setting should be the same thing.

Hi ontemp, you’ve posted twice now and each time it comes across as somewhat rude.
I’d appreciate it if you refrain from saying things like “get your shit together” or “THIS IS STUPID” or accusing us of releasing without testing.
Nearly all software you’ll ever use will have bugs. I know it can be frustrating at times, but that’s no reason to treat others poorly. We’re humans, and deserve to be treated with basic decency. Remember, we’re volunteering our time here helping you for free. 🙂

Please refer to the User Expectations for these forums: https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#user-expectations
“Above all, users are expected to be kind, helpful, and respectful.”

As for the issue you describe in this post, I’m unable to reproduce it. New posts default to whichever Twitter Card setting was configured in the Social Meta options screen.

If i’m frustrated with something I’m going to express it without reservation. If you don’t like the way your users express their frustration, make better software.

There are many things in life I don’t like as well, but as an adult I have to deal with it. Life is tough. Thicker skin will help you make it through.

I do appreciate you helping your users on this forum and I do appreciate you creating the plugin. But please don’t pull the virtue signaling card and take the moral high ground to misconstrue this situation. I haven’t demeaned anyone and am expressing my frustration with bad software, not any one person. If you take it personally, sorry but that’s the nature of owning a business.

Life is tough, grow thicker skin, and I’m sure electronic text on a computer screen won’t keep you up at night.

No, not really. That’s not how it works and your amazing sense of entitlement doesn’t give you a pass. It’s a simple rule, you remain civil and there’s not going to be a problem for you with these forums.

If there’s a repeat of your abuse then you risk having your account banned here.

This software and all the software on this site is opensource and free. That doesn’t make you a “customer”. You’re not and you can’t treat anyone the way you have. There are no companies here, only volunteers including the plugin author you have been communicating with.

I’m closing this topic as you’ve already written enough. Life may be tough but no one is your punching bag. Learn to be civil, no one needs to read about what you think you are owed.
