Support » Theme: Portfolio Gallery » Frontpage – Completely Hide Sidebar

  • Tested the theme. Beautiful.

    Wanted a HomePage (Landing) completely 100% filled with grid photos only. No menu, no site title, no nothing, except all photos only. (100% Full Width)

    1. How can I do to make it look like that? Any CSS or PHP tricks?

    Better Still,

    2. The site title and slogan can be (optionally) shown – superimposed on top of the photos (option on font, color and positions) – This is what I think will be a perfect portfolio theme.

    Hello, @sexilyspeaking!

    Thank you for your time posting your questions!

    1. Unfortunately, Portfolio Gallery theme does not have settings to disable its left menu. However, you can hide it the following way.

    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Layout Editor and set Menu width to 0%.
    • Navigate to Customize > General > General Main and add the following CSS code to Custom CSS option.
    .left_container {
        display: none;
    }

    2. As for the site title and slug, you can add it as the homepage title and description, but this requires a different approach for the front page setup.

    a. Create a page and use Portfolio Page as its Page Template. You will be able to select post categories of posts to display, using the settings of Page template section of the page editor.

    Page Template

    b. Publish the page, and set it as your website homepage the following way. Go to Settings > Reading, then set Front page displays to A Static Page.

    Afterwards, select the page with Portfolio Template, then save the settings.

    Thanks.

    1. The first trick works. But not 100% perfect because it leaves behind a black border (menu side) that is thicker than the one on the right side. So the the whole layout looks a little uneven. STill, it’s a good solution.

    2. “Portfolio Page”?
    – I couldn’t find this template at all. Mine only have “no parent) or Coming Soon? Am I missing something here?

    Hi, @sexilyspeaking!

    1. Could you please post the link to your website? We will have a look and suggest a solution for making the page borders even.

    2. Please note, that Portfolio Page template is available in Pro version of the theme. You can also try to add the site title and tagline using Enable Body custom code option.

    It is located in Appearance > Customize > Integration > Main Integration tab.

    Let me know in case you have questions.
    Thanks! Have a good day!

    2. Portfolio Page template is available in Pro version
    I’d certainly consider to purchase if there are suitable features.
    Basically, you can guess what I am looking for … A dramatic frontpage with flexable layout/features.
    eg. A landing Page that has superimposed title/slogan, more control over layout, where to place the sidebar/menu, text etc.

    Right now there is no navigation at all if I hide the sidebar. Perhaps you can play with my input to launch a new Portfolio Gallery?

    Thanks, and you too, have a good day!

    Hi, @sexilyspeaking!

    Thank you for the links and clarifications.

    1. Please add the following CSS code to Appearance > Customize > General > Custom CSS panel:

    .right_container {
        width: 100% !important;
    }

    Make sure to clear the cache of your web browser, before you check the changes. Let us know if this helps.

    2. Unfortunately, Portfolio Gallery theme does not have a top menu or a top bar for adding website title or tagline.

    However, as I mentioned in my previous reply, you are able to do this by writing the heading and tagline with Enable Body custom code setting (in both free and pro).

    Cheers!
