front page settings overriding blog setting

On this page please note that the blog post dates are appearing even though I have this set under general settings/post(blogs) page settings with the hide post date setting turned on. What do I need to do to have the date hidden feature persist on the “static front page”. This is important as it is the only way to get to the blogs reliably. I had to hide the ‘menu’ to the blog as the blog page duplicates the “static front page” which is ridiculous.
