    Hello,

I am having problems changing my front page settings to static. I went into reading settings to change the front page to static but there was no option there at all.

This is what settings I get in my reading settings:

    *Blog pages show at most*
*Syndication feeds show the most recent*
*For each article in a feed, show*
    *Encoding for pages and feeds*

Does anyone know what the problem may be and how it can be fixed?

    Thanks,
    Kerri

  • Have you tried re-uploading your WordPress files/folder via FTP or cpanel? What theme are you using? There are some advanced themes which prevent you from creating a different front page except through theme’s options page.

    Hi Mercime,

I am new to wordpress so I don’t really know what you mean by re-uploading my wordpress files. I set it all up through Fantastico on my cpanel. I have tried a few different themes but none of them show the front page option in reading settings.

Is there an actual support contact for wordpress that I can send a message to? I seen that wordpress.com have a contact support section but it says next to it that they don’t deal with support for wordpress.org blogs.

    Thanks

    Hi guys,

    Has noone experienced this problem?

Have you created any Pages yet?

As it says in Administration > Settings > Reading

This setting displays only if you have one or more Pages defined.

Thanks Michael, I’ve added a page and it is now working.
