Front page feed – headlines and pictures only

  • I’m looking to have a ‘latest entries’ feed from the WP blog display on my front page, with

    – headline
    – category
    – photo from the entry

but without any text from the main body of the post.

Can this be done? I’ve searched these forums without finding an answer. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

  • ahh check out my site vitamovie.com
i have made it so that only custom fields show up instead of the post

try this link to learn about them http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Custom_Fields

what i did was have the <–more–> in the beginning of each post than the post content, and whatever i want to show up is in the custom fields

jugglenaut, I second vachi’s suggestion above re Custom Fields. Set up home.php (copy from index.php) add divs and codes to that and styling those divs in style.css

However, if you want to an “easier way” to learn how to set up and use the custom fields, check out the codes and Mimbo WordPress Theme by Darren Hoyt with instructions on same page and theme support forum
    Good luck.

Thank you both so much, that seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I’ll report back and let you know how I get on.

    THANKS!
