As a a newby to WordPress I am struggling to follow tutorials which refer to settings in Dashboard which have been changed in 3.3

I am trying to alter the front page which I gather used to be done via Settings – Reading and selecting Post or Static page and if the latter which one. That option is no longer available o that settings screen and I can’t find where it is.

So how do I change my front page from the default latest Post screen to a static page which I can edit?

    Many thanks and Merry Christmas.

    Ian

  • Hi Ian,

It’s still on my Reading settings page. What do you see where it used to be?

While sorting out this issue, you can quickly make this change by going to http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page and choosing the page you want for your homescreen.

    Merry Christmas!

    Hi Jeff
Thanks for the reply. Dashboard – Settings – Readings produces

Blog pages show at most – Data entry box
Syndication feeds show the most recent – Data entry box

For each article in a feed show – Select button Full text or summary

Encoding for pages and feeds – UTF8 set as default

    & that’s it!

I’ll have a look at your suggestion in the meantime.

    Ian
