Just taken over a new website from another designer.
All pages are working fine apart from the home page, which is completely blank apart from a single word (the name of the website). When I view the source code for the default home page it is literally a single word – nothing else.

I’ve disabled all plugins – no change
Turned on full debugging – no errors/warnings/notices
reset to twentyseventeen theme – no change
reset .htaccess to default – no change
reset all browser cache – no change

If I unset the page as the front page in Settings/Reading and browse to it’s stub – the page works fine. The page is just some basic HTML – no php script in it at all.

This only happens when I assign it as the “Your homepage displays….” and choose this page as a static page.

If I choose any other page or choose “your latest posts” as the home page – I still get the same error when trying to visit the domain name with no specific page url.

Can anyone help please to get my site to have a default home page?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
