Sure, but first of all, review http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Capability_vs._Role_Table as even though a user must access the Dashboard to post with WordPress as-is, not all roles can access all features.

For example, an Author can only edit/publish/delete their own posts and upload files, they won’t see Dashboard sections that they can’t access. You might be better off just doing that instead of messing with front-end editor plugins.

If a front-end editor plugin is really what you’re after, there are several available by searching through http://wordpress.org/plugins/ including one which is currently in testing for hopeful inclusion in WordPress 4 (though maybe not yet ready for prime time at the moment): http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-front-end-editor/
