# From wordpress.com to wordpress.org

 * So i started my blog in wordpress.com then i got it hosted through godaddy installed
   the software with them linked it to the blog etc. I know there are many things
   that i can do if im with WP.org and not WP.com but do i actually have to start
   a new site in wp.org? My plugins aren’t working so i thought maybe… Not surehow
   to word this question but does amnybody get what i am trying to ask?

 * Assuming you have a registered domain
 * 1. Get a hosting account and ask them for the correct name server info
    2. Visit
   your domain registrar and point your domain’s name server to your host 3. Wait
   for your domain to resolve properly (2 to 48 hours) 4. Install WordPress at your
   domain (see [Installing WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress))
   5. At your wordpress.COM blog do Tools->Export 6 At your domain’s newly installed
   WordPress do Tools->Import->WordPress using file from step 5
