  • Best bet would be to copy from frontpage and paste to WordPress Pages. It would take longer to code anything which would get text from your frontpage site onto database driven WordPress installation.

Thanks for your answer. Could you explain to me how to do it ?
“It would take longer to code anything which would get text from your frontpage site onto database driven WordPress installation. ” What does it mean ? ( English is not my mother tongue and I’m a newbie in all this as well which does not help sorry !)

It would take longer to code anything which would get text from your frontpage site onto database driven WordPress installation.

This means that there’s no available importer/converter script which can transform a frontpage pages into a WordPress site. Which means as I mentioned above, you would have to manually copy content from frontpage site and paste into WP site.

Could you explain to me how to do it ?

    1. Make a backup your frontpage site and save in safe place in your computer hard drive.
    2. Install WordPress in your local computer or in a new physical subdomain of your site with webhosting server – http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress
    2. I assume your frontpage site has URL’s ending with .html or .htm, so you would also need to install this plugin – http://www.introsites.co.uk/33~html-wordpress-permalink-on-pages-plugin.html
The plugin requires that the mod_rewrite module of your Apache server is enabled for pretty premalinks
    3. Create Pages in WordPress backend following page URL of your existing site.
    4. Delete your frontpage installation in server (not your backup in computer)
    5. Move WP installation to domain root

    3. Create Pages in WordPress backend following page URL of your existing site
Please can u explain this step further.does that mean I should hardcode the permalink
