From Address Disappears and only review reminder test is never received

    I have setup this plugin on a wordpress multisite and have a strange issue.

    On one site, both the review reminder and review for discount work fine and I can sent a test email it all works.

    On the second site, only the review for discount test email is received, both say they send but only the discount was.

    Also on both sites the “From” address field goes blank when you scroll down the settings page or send a test email or click the up arrow.

    I use SMTP to send emails on the sites and seems to be working fine except for the one site review reminder.

    When I first click to manage review reminder it is there

    Can you please update the plugin to the version 5.2.1 and check if it resolves this problem?

    Thanks for the fast fix! The dissapearing email field issue is gone now.

    However for the strangest reason, I still cannot send a test review for review reminder email on this one site. Same site the review for discount email sends a test just fine so it is not an issue with the site not sending emails.

    Also on the other site in my multi site, both review emails send tests just fine.

    It says Success: email has been successfully sent! but it is never received, where the 3 others are.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks for getting back to us!

    It is difficult to say why the review reminder email is not sent from one of your sites. Since you are using a WordPress mailer for sending emails, we have no control over how emails are sent.

    Please try installing a plugin like WP Mail SMTP. It has a feature to keep log of all emails sent by WordPress mailer. Please check the log and see if there is anything there after you send the test emails for review reminder or review discount.

    I am using an smtp plugin and as I said on the same site one of the test emails works and the other doesn’t. Same setup on another site and both send.

    It is great that you are using an SMTP plugin. Can you please share screenshots of its logs?

    I do appreciate you following up on this so frequently.

    I have just run some tests:

    • First test review your experience email, sent to nathanf email – not received – appears in email log
    • test 2 discount coupon for you email, sent to nathanf email – received – appears in email log
    • test 3,4,5 review your exp. email, sent to gmail – not received – appears in email log
    • test 6 discount coupon email sent to gmail, received – appears in email log

    I also checked the delivery report in my nathanf email and only the one email I received appears in the the report, the other does not show being denied or blocked / spam or anything like that.

    I am using Mail Poet plugin SMTP function and tested in there the test email sends and is received and as I mentioned I now have your review plugin installed on 3 sites which means 6 different emails setup (review and coupon) all setup basically the same, they all work except the review email on the one site.

    It’s bizarre.

    Thanks for sharing the emails log!

    If review reminder emails appear in the sent email log but you do not receive them, it means that it is a deliverability problem of your self-managed mail server setup. Here are next steps that you can potentially take:

    1. Contact support of your mail server or SMTP plugin that you are using and ask them to help you resolve the deliverability problem.

    or

    2. Create a brand new gmail address and test sending a review reminder to that address.

    or

    3. Use ‘CusRev’ mailer for sending emails – it is pre-configured to use DKIM, SPF, and DMARC to ensure excellent email deliverability.
