Friends website is down, need help

    I’m trying to help my friend with his website, http://www.propemtikon.com.

    When I tried to go to the website it would show a warning that the site is dangerous etc. I did some research and it was apparently flagged by google for malware (which is true).

    So I followed this guide Tutorial – how to remove malware in an attempt to remove the malware.

    However, because I’m not really an expert with websites which is why I failed at step 5. I deleted the necessary folder from within my wordpress admin page and broke the site. Then I realized that I needed to use FTP. So I downloaded Filezilla

    Here’s the problem. My friend registered the site with wordpress and he doesn’t remembers his login details (because he created the account 6 years ago and forgot about it) so I don’t know how I can get the FTP details? All we know is the login to the admin page of his wordpress website.

    Is there a way to contact wordpress directly? Please help my friend has had this website for 5 years and is very distraught…

    That link doesn’t even open at my end.

    However, if your website was flagged by Google, you need to take necessary steps which you already mentioned above you did. You will have to wait until google crawls your website and makes sure its safe, this process might take a while, can take even a month as well. It will not happen instantly.

    Secondly, you mentioned that “My friend registered the site with wordpress”

    If he has registered on wordpress.com then their support forum is here https://en.support.wordpress.com/

    However if you are running a standalone install from wordpress.org then you might as well try these steps to ensure your files are clean.

    Contact your host for the FTP access details. Your site is hosted at Media Temple.

    Thank you very much. I think I can get the details from them.

    Just one question. When I tried to get the host I searched on whois but it sent me elsewhere. How did you check this up?
