Fresh ReDesign – Care to Critique?

  • Howdy folks, I just finished re-building my site and adjusting large portions of the CSS and theme.

If anyone cares to critique the template I’d really appreciate it. As part of the update I added the “doFollow” plugin so any comments left will result in links back to your own site. As long as the comments are productive (i.e. helpful) I’ll gladly leave them.

I’m particularly interested in locating any bugs that might be floating around. I’ve tested the theme in a large variety of browsers but don’t have a mac so I’m a bit limited.

Please leave any comments on this post: http://bill2me.com/2007/03/07/major-site-changes/

    Thanks for your help.

  • i would suggest some sort of header image, instead of just plain text!

i also feel like there are way too many ads.

Personally, i don’t like seeing ads when they stand out more than content!

I had a hard time figuring out what the site is about. I see ads and more ads and ads about doing your own ads. You need content before ads make any money. And perhaps it is a temp problem but the site was really slow when I saw it.

    Thanks for the feedback:

    • On Too Many Ads: when I was running it on WAMP it seemed like the ads were ok but I agree they’re a bit too heavily saturated at the top – especially for a personal blog. I’ll definitey cut them back.
    • On Loading Slow: Yeah, I dunno what that’s all about. Early yesterday morning (long before I swapped to the new theme) everything started slowing down. While AdSense and Analytics are registering hits but StatCounter has totally stopped doing anything. I may have to contact my provider to find out what the deal is.
    • On Content: Thanks for the reminder – I’ve been so busy coding I’ve fallen behind on quality posts. That’ll be changing asap. 🙂

    Thanks for your input folks.
