Fresh Install – Slowness

Hello,

I recently installed WordPress, first through Fantastico Deluxe (automated) and then manually (2.8). Both installations succeeded without issue and accessing each blog works great.

However, for both installations accessing the Admin Area / Dashboard is VERY slow and usually does not complete loading. Basically, I get the header and part of the left-side-menu and the rest is not loading.
It is rather sporadic… Once in about 10-15 tries it will load just fine (and quickly).

I have tried a few variables variables:
IE / FF / Chrome
Without Gears Enabled and With Gears Enabled
Access from different PC’s
Access from different ISP’s

Nothing appears to be consistency better or worse.

My reseller host has reviewed my account and indicates there is no account abuse nor high server load. The state that it loads for them ‘without any speed issues’.

I noticed a post about disabling stats…how does one go about doing that?

Does anyone have any other recommendations or suggestions?
