Support » Plugin: WPFront Notification Bar » frequent header cookie error appearing on Sentry

  • This error message appears in Sentry. I have this error in the tracker more than 2000 times.

    It might be caused by calls made from X/wp-cron.php which appears in the error metadata?…

    @dkocich ,

    I can relate. Upon performing a HTTP header check of our website, we get this:

    Set-Cookie => wpfront-notification-bar-landingpage=1

    Not sure why the plugin does this. We’d like to get rid of this cookie issue.

    If anybody here knows how to solve this, please chime in.

    Cheers!

    @dkocich ,

    Update: We found a way to remove the cookie(s) generated by this plugin. It may help fix your problem.

    Fix:

    (1) Apply the patch found here.

    (2) The easiest way to apply the patch is to apply it manually. The patch file contains lines of code with pluses (+) and minuses (-). Simply replace the lines of code showing a (-) with those showing a (+). Click here for more info.

    Special Note: Don’t worry about replacing existing plugin folders with new folders as suggested in the patch file. Simply go to the existing plugin folders containing the affected lines of code and replace them as noted in the patch file.

    Worked for us. Unfortunately, the issue will return when the plugin author updates the plugin (unless he applies this patch or removes the cookie directives, which I strongly recommend).

    Cheers!
