• I just moved my website to a brand new OVH VPS with 4cores and 8GB RAM and SSD, suppossed to be optimized for wordpress with centos and mariadb, but since my migration, my wp-admin is really slow, and constantly get Connection refused errors while navigating in my wp-admin or in my website…

Can anybody help me?? I believe is related with MariaDB misconfiguration.. but not very familiar with this specs… please help. Thaks!

  • The best place to ask this question would be with your web host. Unless you have error logs or very good reasons to support your MariaDB theory I’d not offer that up to the support people at your host as the less experienced people there may spend much time running down that possibly ‘blind alley’.

Do be ready to defend your questions with facts and the site running fine on the previous server or whatever statistical data you can offer.

I’d be ready to move unless my deal there at the chosen host was worth pursuing.

Good hosts with the specs you mentioned are ‘a dime a dozen’ so don’t waste a bunch of effort on a host that doesn’t really need your business.
