"Freezing" a defunct wordpress to make in it inaccessable to hackers

  • HI. I have a wordpress blog that I haven’t used in years. I keep it up for historical purposes. I am not going to use this blog anymore and I’m searching for ideas on how I can “freeze it” – to make it inaccessible to hackers. One concern I have is that if I “freeze” it, then it will no longer auto-update to the latest wordpress version. So…. perhaps freezing it isn’t a good idea? Anyhow, I’d appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.

  • Not updating your site will attract hackers like honey attracts flies.

I would suggest converting your WordPress site to static HTML pages, since you don’t need to update it anymore. This will have the added benefit of speeding up the site somewhat.

That’s just what I needed. Thanks Odai!
