Support » Plugin: Export any WordPress data to XML/CSV » Free Version Works Using WP_Query Results Option

    Like many other users I was frustrated at first, thinking I had to upgrade for a basic export of Post Titles, Dates, Tags and Categories. I then found a website which explained how to use the free version with wp_query. Since the webpage link is not allowed in reviews, here is what I did in my own words.

    Select the WP_Query Result tab. The free version did not work for me to select filters unless I did this. Choose Post Type Query from dropdown and then type in over exactly what the placeholder text says. I couldn’t find any other query listings anywhere else online, but this one was enough for me.

    Type this in:
    ‘post_type’ => ‘post’, ‘post_status’=>’publish’
    You can also use an array for all of your titles in different status:
    ‘post_type’ => ‘post’, ‘post_status’ => array( ‘pending’, ‘draft’, ‘publish’, ‘trash’ )

    Click on Customize Export File button and voila!

    It would probably help the reviews if the plugin author gave this hint in the introductory video. It’s too bad because the video is really well done and thorough and the plugin is very easy to use once you understand how.

    One other tip, use the “Friendly” name field when saving the file. Excel had a hard time opening it with the name the program generated.

    @alondonb Thanks for the review but please keep it to your words here only. No links or links to images. That’s not permitted in reviews and I have removed yours.
