• After reading about what it is supposed to do, I installed this. The ‘blurb’ says that the free version enables WooCommerce to display the correct colour image when selected. It does not. That is a pro feature, apparently. Instead of wasting people’s time, make it clear what the free plugin lacks.

    Uninstalled.

    Hi @canine1503 ,

    Thanks for sharing your feedback.

After reading about what it is supposed to do, I installed this.

Can you please share where did you read this?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Thank You

A direct quote from the plugin description

‘In the free WooCommerce attribute variation plugin, besides creating size, brand, image, color, and label variation swatches, you can handle the swatches shape style Rounded and Circle.’

The plugin supplier has asked me to take this review down as it may damage his business…

    Hi @canine1503

Yes, you should rewrite the feedback. Because in the mentioned line we didn’t write “Free version enables WooCommerce to display the correct colour image when selected“.

It is totally intentional feedback. It is clear that, in that line, we didn’t mention our free version offers that feature.

    Thank You

You, clearly, don’t, understand that you’re own description, shown above, clearly says what the free version offers.

My review stands. And, by the way, you think it is good practice to try to coerce a reviewer to take down a review with the promise of a free pro version?

Hi @fizanzvai . I came here for the same reason. But I am not going to be so harsh in communication.

However @canine1503 definitely has a point. I think you worded badly this sentence and it really is confusing because it literally made me belive that I am getting this feature in the free version. So I installed it after reading your own description only to lost time after trying to understand why I don’t see this feature and where I am working wrong with your product.

But in the end I realized this is not possible because the feature you describe as free is not there. I am unsure if this is intentional for the sake of forcing people to install your product or perhaps you don’t understand English entirely.

English is not my first language either but I can assure you that 9 out of 10 people would fall or misunderstood your language. Here is what you wrote and what confused me (and the user which complained)
“In the free WooCommerce attribute variation plugin, besides creating size, brand, image, color, and label variation swatches, you can handle the swatches shape style Rounded and Circle.”

I understand you refer to a free “WooCoommerce attribute variation” plugin not your plugin – however just a paragraph after this you continue with this:

“You can easily convert the variation select options from drop-down to buttons just by installing this WooCommerce Variation Swatches plugin. It will automatically convert your product variation select dropdowns to button swatches once the plugin is installed.”

You see, you never not even once mentioned this feature is paid. You said just by installing this plugin would automatically convert dropdowns to colors.

So I think it’s a bit unfair and my criticism is that you should make it clear, especially after the fact you use long descriptions. I have lost at least two hours on my end trying to understand why I am stupid and can’t make it work for free.

    In the case you said:

“In the PREMIUM version You can easily convert the variation select options from drop-down to buttons just by installing this WooCommerce Variation Swatches plugin. It will automatically convert your product variation select dropdowns to button swatches once the plugin is installed.”

    – no one would be confused.

I am writing this review in good hope. It is not my intention to hurt your business even though your inaccurate description made me lose two hours of my time.

    Regards.

    Hi @sino27 ,

Thanks a lot for sharing the detailed description to guide us in the right direction. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and the waste of time (two hours is a very long time).

From our end, the descriptions seem okay except that it is quite long and the swatch shape style should be rectangular and circular (round). The description says Rounded and Circle, which are the same thing (and wrong).

A revised version of our product description would look like this:

Variation Swatches for WooCommerce helps create different types of attribute swatches (button, color, image, and radio) replacing the default select type drop-downs.

By default, it converts the WooCommerce default select type attributes (drop-downs) to buttons. Once you install and activate our plugin, it should automatically convert them into buttons.

For color, image, and radio-type swatches, you have to configure them accordingly. In some simple steps, you can configure the color, image, and radio type attributes. Please refer to these tutorials for configuring color, image, and radio-type attributes.

See all of those features are available in the free/basic version.

But in the end I realized this is not possible because the feature you describe as free is not there. I am unsure if this is intentional for the sake of forcing people to install your product or perhaps you don’t understand English entirely.

English is not our first language but why should we intentionally misguide our users! Also, deceiving and forcing people does not produce any good in the long run.

I understand you refer to a free “WooCoommerce attribute variation” plugin not your plugin – however just a paragraph after this you continue with this:

Yes, we refer to our free Variation Swatches for WooCommerce (plugin).

When you activate our plugin, the drop-downs should turn into button swatches like this. It may only fail due to a plugin or theme conflict. Some themes change the default WooCommerce select type. As a result, we cannot automatically convert them. We are happy to solve such issues with our plugin support.

We believe that you have visited the tutorial links. If you are still confused, please let us know.

You are most welcome to connect with us on our site and share your thoughts. We can discuss this in real time on our live chat. Hopefully, this will help reduce the misunderstanding.

Two hours is a very long time and we still apologize for it.
(We don’t want anyone else to go through this).

Hope to hear from you soon.
    Best Regards
