Free Version is way too basic (6 posts)

Only care about making you upgrade to the premium version.

You don't even get a chance to do anything with the free version to really see if this plugin is what you're after.

Free version only lets you create one map with one default marker. You can't do anything else at all in it.

All wrong from the developers. Should give us a taste of what this plugin can benefit to our sites. It fails to do that and subsequently will lose a lot of potential upgrades to their pro version.

    Hi
I'm very sorry you feel this way.
However, the "Lite" version allows you to create one map with unlimited markers, not just one marker. You can also set different map settings and map types with the Lite version. In most cases, this is more than enough for users who don't know how to program using the Google Maps API.

    Kind regards
    Nick

It renders multiple markers completely pointless because you can't even give them a title. Not much point in showing 10 random pins on a map with no title of what they are.

It's ridiculously basic functionality of Google Maps that you've purposely left out of your Lite version to force members to upgrade. You can produce the same as your Lite maps by going to Google directly and grabbing the map embed code more or less.

It wouldn't stop me upgrading to your pro version but it would many but mainly, I just disapprove of your contribution to the WordPress community. Thanks for taking the time to respond though.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Over 100k people are using the "Lite" version and are very happy with the plugin. It does enough for what *they* need. Unfortunately in this case, you require more functionality and are not willing to pay the equivalent of a lunch bill for this. However, should the moment arise, I'm sure you wouldnt mind spending $50 to $90 on a premium wordpress theme, correct? In the case of my plugin, You're not just paying for the functionality, but the support in case you need help (which most do). I've been building, upgrading and supporting this plugin for two years and it takes time to do this.

I can see you are very annoyed by this and the last thing I want to do is annoy users or potential customers. Please contact me on nick@wpgmaps.com - I'd prefer to not end the conversion on this note.

    Kind regards
    Nick

    Nick,

If you read my message, I've stated that I would still go on to upgrade your plugin anyway - if you read the poor reviews though, you'll see many are disappointed with the lack of functionality of the Lite version.

I've got a team of WordPress developers - subsequently, we wouldn't purchase premium themes. I also have no qualms with paying for decent WordPress plugins (as stated).

I'm not "very annoyed", I couldn't care less personally. I have tried to provide an honest review which reviews your product in comparison to others on the market (which I'd suggest you take a look at because they contribute way more than your Lite version whilst still monetizing the product with various pro versions) most developers would take as constructive comments.

    Thanks.
