  • When they were returned to your site after checkout, was there a message that says to look for an email with the registration link? Did they use that or did they go straight to your wp-login to register instead?

When the user is returned to the site, if PayPal doesn’t tell s2Member that the payment happened, s2Member can’t assume the new user should get the paid access, so s2Member doesn’t set the cookie that’d make the new registration get the paid access. Instead s2 has to wait for PayPal a bit, and after getting the notification, s2 sends the signup link in an email.

If the cookie had not been set and the user went to register without using the link in the email, and you have free registrations open, then the new account would have been registered as a free one.

Sadly, the delay from PayPal is normal when using a trial term, but we can’t do anything about it.

Another option is to close free registrations. Another option is to only sell upgrades to registered users.

    I hope that helps. 🙂

Feel free to take a look and test for the 10-day free trial at http://pmworldlibrary.net/trial-membership/

From that page any of the register links in the content area takes you here:
    http://pmworldlibrary.net/trial-membership/trial-membership-form/

Oh, it’s a free registration pro-form at a higher level with an expiration? I thought you were selling a subscription with a trial term.

Can I see the shortcode for the free registration pro-form there, please? Thanks. 🙂

    Cristian,

    What do you think?

I found the problem with the level starting at level 0 instead of level 1.

    WAS:
    [s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form register=”1″ level=”0″ ccaps=”” desc=”Signup now, it’s a 10-Day Free Trial Membership!” custom=”pmworldlibrary.net” tp=”10″ tt=”D” captcha=”clean” /]

    NOW:
    [s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form register=”1″ level=”1″ ccaps=”” desc=”Signup now, it’s a 10-Day Free Trial Membership!” custom=”pmworldlibrary.net” tp=”10″ tt=”D” captcha=”clean” /]

I will check in 10 days to see if they automatically move to level 0 after that, correctly as that was not happening correctly either.

All seems to be working for this ticket, now.
