Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Free Shipping class not working

  • Resolved TechMan

I created a new shipping class called “Free Shipping” and assigned it to a product but shipping charges are still being applied on that product.

It was working fine before but it seems like the changes suggested in following thread have messed up some setting!?

In that thread I asked for a solution to add my own custom states. I am not 100% sure if that solution caused this but like I said it was working fine before and this is the only change I did and now free shipping is not working.

Ok I enabled “Debug Mode” and noticed following.

    1. I have made two zones. One zone is for city Karachi and is called “Karachi”
    2. Other zone for other cities is “Locations not covered by your other zones”
    3. When I add item in cart then it shows “Customer matched zone Locations not covered by your other zones”
    4. If I change my city to Karachi then it says “Customer matched zone Karachi”

    Hey @techman

Shipping classes are used to group products – they are not used directly to offer shipping rates to customers.

If you add a free shipping class to a product, then it will still be charged the default shipping, plus the amount you set for this shipping class.

To give a specific product always Free Shipping, you will need an additional plugin, such as Per Product Shipping or Conditional Shipping and Payments.

Ok I following this article and fixed the issue. Actually I used this same article before but this time I deleted a zone and created again and didn’t properly follow this article hence the issue. No need for any plugin.
